Ethos & Values

At The Hayfield School we live by
two simple values:

To have a
strong work ethic

To show
kindness and decency

We believe in these values because
we want students to be fully prepared for adult life
so that they:

Fulfil their
academic potential

Have essential personal skills and attributes

Are confident to take on new opportunities

Are resilient when they have to face challenges

We trust and invest in our staff
and they aim:

To provide a high quality and engaging learning experience for all students.

To build and model excellent relationships with students and families.

The Hayfield School is proud of its staff who work together to give all our students the best possible experience.

The staff are exceptionally dedicated professionals and this is reflected their commitment to providing wider curriculum opportunities.   Vast numbers of students get involved in schemes and activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award, fundraising, sports teams, performing arts and volunteer work through our LORIC programme (Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Independence, Communication) as well as a wide range of trips and visits.

Finally we believe that if we live by our values there is plenty of time for fun and laughter, which is essential for a healthy mindset.  Our students belong to one of four houses Endeavour, Liberty, Courage and Wisdom. The house system promotes a strong team spirit and at the end of every term the whole school comes together for a fun charity event.  We take great pride in supporting our charities.

We want our students to have great memories of their school days and look back, knowing that they had the best possible preparation to thrive in adult life and take their place in society.
